The TVS2200 can reliably divert IEC 61000-4-5 fault currents of up to 40A to protect the system from high-power transient shocks or lightning strikes. This device provides a solution to meet the common EMC requirements of industrial signal lines and can withstand an IEC 61000-4-5 open-circuit voltage of up to ±1kV when coupled through a 42Ω impedance. The TVS2200 uses a unique feedback mechanism to ensure precise and flat clamping capability during faults, keeping the system contact voltage below 30V. Precise voltage regulation allows designers to confidently select system components with lower voltage tolerances, thereby reducing system cost and complexity without sacrificing reliability. In addition, the TVS2200 comes in a small 2mm × 2mm SON package, designed for space-constrained applications. Compared with the industry-standard SMA and SMB packages, its size can be reduced by 70%. The extremely low device leakage current and capacitance minimize the impact on the protected lines. To ensure reliable protection throughout the product's lifespan, the TVS2200 was subjected to 5,000 repeated surge shock tests in a high-temperature environment without any change in device performance.
